Easy Chocolate Chip Banana Bread | GF + DF

Usually I’m a cookie or brownie person for my go-to desserts and/or sweets, but lately I had been craving some delicious bread.

Of course I had a few bananas that were on the verge of being too ripe, so what better time then to make some banana bread. Throw in chocolate chips of course, because, well, chocolate.

This recipe is quick + easy and involves only a few ingredients! It’s gluten free, dairy free + refined sugar free. I use almond flour as the base which makes it slightly denser. It’s naturally sweetened by the bananas, but I also added a little maple syrup to make it slightly sweeter, although this is optional! I [of course] add chocolate chips to the batter, but feel free to add in whatever else you’d like – nuts, dried fruits, etc!

You can also find one of my other favorite banana nut bread recipes here.

I hope you enjoy it!

Easy Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Gluten Free | Dairy Free | Soy Free | Refined Sugar Free
  • Prep Time10 min
  • Cook Time50 min
  • Total Time1 hr

    Ingredients:

    • 3 very RIPE bananas
    • 2 eggs
    • 1/4 cup almond milk
    • 3 tbsp maple syrup
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 2 1/2 cups almond flour
    • 1/3 cup ground flaxseed
    • 1 tsp cinnamon
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

    Directions:

    1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees + line loaf pan with parchment paper. I also lightly spray/coat pan prior to prevent sticking and it helps keep parchment paper down.

Mash bananas then mix with wet ingredients until combined. Add in dry ingredients. Lastly fold in chocolate chips. Pour batter into loaf pan + top with more chocolate.

Bake for 50-55 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Remove from oven and let cool before slicing. ENJOY!

    Notes:

Feel free to play with it and try other add-ins that you like! e.g. walnuts, pecans, dried fruit, etc.

Store in fridge for up to 5 days. Store in freezer for up to a month.

Get to baking! You won’t be disappointed.

    Xx, Alyssa
